if CD's inflate In price i'm gonna get depressed
Interesting convo with a friend who owns a hip NYC record shop about a sudden renewed interest in CDs, which were a negligible part of his business till recently.

Episode 44: The Part About the Crimes. Keep forgetting to plug this on here but I'm really happy with how this EP turned out. We talk about true crime and serial killer shows, violence against women in lit, and even get a little 👁️ pilled. Link below

Really happy to revisit this. One of those books that I feel like only gets better and better the more I reread it.
First episode of the new @infinitelibrarypod.bsky.social series on “2666”! I think this is a really good ep. I got to talk about one of the best books of the last quarter century and tie it to all my pet topics: Freud, Bloom, magic, etc.

Please give it a listen!

Hi Bookheads, John here. Due to an unexpected personal loss, this week’s episode on Melville’s “The Confidence Man” is going to be late. Ben and I are figuring out the schedule for this ep and the rest of this season, and we’ll share more as soon as we’re able. Semper Books!

Got a good feeling we're going to get a lot of mileage out of Watt's Richardson vs Fielding dichotomy; ie The Novel of Interior Psychology vs the Novel Which Says Something About Society
Bullied @itsben1week.bsky.social into reliving his coursework days for this week’s episode. Reading “The Rise of the Novel” wasn’t exactly fun in the traditional sense of the word, but it was a blast to talk about!
We’re mixing things up a bit this week with some non-fiction! We talk Ian Watt’s “Rise of the Novel”, the concept of the “reading public”, and the value of delving into academic literature on today’s episode of The Infinite Library! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

most cutting thing you can say is "who's this jongleur?" because it implies they're a) a jongleur & b) that don't even have an established repertoire of troubadour songs or distinctive juggling tricks. they can't even do pratfalls!

Enjoyable to see Chabon finally nail his Great American novel after the "shipwrecked" Fountain City. The whole thing is chock full of bravura paragraphs. Also this is perhaps our most riff filled episode to date lol.
