Kidnapping the leader of a foreign state without any declaration of war and announcing it via social media is full-on rogue state stuff. From the world’s number one superpower.

You break it, you bought it.

But given his inability to focus on anything difficult, and his lack of concern for others beyond himself and his own circle, it’s not tough to imagine Trump walking away from what happens next.
The US is now responsible for the governance of Venezuela. Toppling the regime of a smaller country is always the easy part. The hard part is what comes after. Neo-cons always expect a pro-US nirvana. It rarely works out. But I suppose the oil companies can seize some assets.

Trump's actions in Venezuela shows why it was wrong to dismiss his threats to Greenland. If he's willing to do this, he will be willing to do anything

This is a classic example of what we will see from weak spined Democrats. They always have to add that caveat that tells you they aren’t too far apart from what Trump is doing. As they say, everything after the “but” is bullshit.👇🏽
I’m no fan of Maduro. He’s an authoritarian. But I can hold that thought in my mind simultaneously with the belief that bombing a sovereign country and exfiltrating Maduro is illegal, unethical, offensive, and galaxy-level foolish.

My question is who the fuck is next? If he’s now just doing this shit without any oversight at all, and with absolutely no one stopping him, why *wouldn’t* he invade Canada? Why *wouldn’t* he invade Greenland? Why *wouldn’t* he take back the Panama Canal?!

Until a few minutes ago, I didn’t know who this piece of shit is. But she is a class A piece of shit.👇🏽
Your last three tweets cited tweets from CNN, AP, and CBS News but looking forward to your original reporting from (checks notes) Brooklyn.

The worst kind of obnoxiousness. Melissa Chan decided to mock all independent journalists (including those doing serious work) and when people called her on it, she pretended they were mad about her "giving respect" to mainstream reporters on the ground.
There's still plenty of time to delete this and apologize to Marisa. As for this other post you made, not a single person is criticizing you for "giving respect" to the reporters on the ground. They're questioning the need to attack independent journalists who can ALSO do good work with real sources

With Trump appearing to have pulled off a successful black-bagging of a national leader, he will be absolutely emboldened to try this again.

Imagine now him doing this (or something similar) with the leadership of Greenland. That's the scenario we need to be trying to deter going forward.
🚨 HOLY SHIT:

Trump says Maduro and his wife have been captured and flown out of Venezuela.

This was a decapitation strike.

Btw, the big story overhanging all of this is that US government is deadly serious in its stated plans to dominate and control the western hemisphere. Take the threats against Greenland very seriously indeed.

For those justifying everything saying it’s ok against a regime that authoritarian, answer what is your regime at the moment? If it is a pure democracy, proceed to step number two - the UN Charter.
