In case someone was still wondering…
The illegality is blatant but seems to be irrelevant, at least for now.
Israel “seeks to permanently control Palestinian territory, disperse the Palestinian population, and suppress Palestinian self-determination.”
“These illegal aims infect the military campaign as a whole, rendering it an unlawful act that cannot be justified by invoking the right of self-defense.”
Israel's military offensive in Gaza is illegal.

Not only because it uses illegal means that violate international humanitarian law.

But also because it seeks illegal ends that violate the international law governing the use of force.

It must stop.

It is getting harder and harder to look at these moves and find evidence of cost cutting. Cancelling contracts with the Institute of Education Sciences is what you'd do if you wanted to control the information environment around schools, which is a fundamentally different goal.

This piece is strongly worded and correct but still understates the seriousness of the US constantly making noises about its own territorial aggrandizement--as against Canada, Greenland, Panama, and now Gaza. 1/

All empires fall, one day. Let’s hope this caricature of a greedy idiot is the beginning of an end.
This would be an unlawful seizure of territory in violation of the United Nations Charter, and the forcible transfer of the population of Gaza would constitute crimes against humanity.

I wrote something: “Male Historians Explain Things To Me: masculinity, expertise and the academy”. With a huge debt to Rebecca Solnit, Sara Ahmed, Siri Hustvedt, Professor Lucy Robinson and many other feminists before me.
