I felt extremely tempted to grab one of those Analogue 3D funtastic colors consoles today and I’m proud of myself for resisting
1. Because I’m broke
2. I honestly don’t really love the N64 all that much as a console to play by myself

also, as far as Remasters go, yes, they're often excessive and dumb, but I do think what IC changes makes the game more enjoyable. the original came out when I was 14, and now i'm 42. being able to skip random battles and fast forward is important! I don't have as much time in my life left!

anyway, Delita's final line in the game is such a gut punch. really well executed - I like how much they really did not fuck around with this game

I think out of all the game "auteurs" to have emerged from the 90s, Matsuno stands out to me as the most legitimate in terms of vision and delivery, when he's given teams and time. I think his seeming disillusionment with the industry over time also plays a part in that view I have of him
