🥞 Dosa, PM2.5, and Indoor Climate Monitoring 🏠🌡️

Making a perfect dosa is as much about science as it is about culinary skill! 👩‍🍳👨‍🔬 To get that ideal crispy dosa, your pan needs to be just at the right temperature-around the Leidenfrost point.

Unseasonably warm May and June are going to be the norm as our world continues to heat up.
I discuss here why this is specifically an issue for young children and how classrooms - where children spend the most part of day - can adapt to these warmer days.

Last month, EECD released the results of air quality testing from the 2023 - 2024 school year. Data was again presented as a PDF chart, making analysis difficult.

I used their data to create visuals and a report, of sorts. You can read the full report here (PDF on OneDrive):

I used to listen to Jordan’s podcasts every day and was sad when he was laid off by one of the big media companies. He’s doing this independently so it would be great if people would subscribe and support him.
Excited to share a personal project I've been working on. I've heard the best thing you can do for your country in tough times is use the skills you have.

So I hope you'll subscribe, share and listen to Elbows Up, a podcast about how, exactly, Canada can be strong and free. Forever.

An important reason why we need to have good air quality in school classrooms, at the earliest, is that the children might get "used to" poor air quality. No, their body won't adapt to bad air but their brain will start to normalize: poor air quality, friends and themselves falling sick,

When I started off composing this article, with Prof. John Wenger, for The Conversation UK, I had, incorrectly, assumed that use of wood-burning stoves is primarily driven by need.
#AirQuality #OutdoorAirPollution #IndoorAirQuality #WoodBurning #WoodFire #HealthyHomes
Wood-burning stoves are a serious problem for your health – and the environment
People who use solid fuel stoves as a secondary source of heating could consider stopping its use altogether. That really would be a breath of fresh air.
