My standard I've Just Gotten a Burst of Followers from Somewhere message: I don't automatically follow people back, but basically anyone I have a positive interaction with *does* get followed, so just reply to something somewhere if you want me to follow you back. :-)
I don't know which I hate more: genAI, or the people who respond "LOLZ AI WROTE DIS" to anything that has more than one fucking punctuation mark in it.

I genuinely thought there had canonically been multiple 007s. Were those all supposed to be the same guy?
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Wait, I don't understand. This sounds like good news.
BREAKING: The Supreme Court DENIES former county clerk Kim Davis's request for the justices to take up her longshot bid to overturn 2015's Obergefell v. Hodges marriage equality decision. No justice even writes about the request.

Real question that I don't have an immediate answer to:

Who replaces Schumer and Durbin?
November 11, 2025 at 2:00 AM
Just blocked somebody for suggesting that people are pissed at Schumer et. al because "being angry feels good."

Fuck you. Fuck you in your *soul.* I'm so god damned sick of being angry all the fucking time. It's been years. All I want is for this shit to be over. It doesn't fucking "feel good."

if you genuinely think Schumer and Democratic leadership opposed this & Republicans coincidentally got exactly the number of votes they needed to avoid a filibuster and none of those votes are from Democratic Senators who are up for reelection in the midterms next year, I have a bridge to sell you.

I'm not the only one who has sung "Toe beans" at my cat to the tune of "Jolene," right?

RIGHT?
November 11, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Durbin is a fucking useless idiot. Even if they hold the vote— which they won’t— and it passes— which it isn’t going to— there’s absolutely nothing compelling the House to act, **and they won’t.**

Dumbfuckery of the highest caliber.
Whoa -- Sen. Durbin went to up Leader Thune during the vote last night to tell him that on the shutdown vote and ACA promise that "8 of us are sticking our neck out that you're going to keep your word. I hope you will. He said 'I assure you I will,'" Durbin says just now

Dick Durbin suffers from a terminal case of Senate Brain, in which the big prize is a handshake deal with your distinguished colleagues where they'll allow you to hold a meaningless vote that you can then point to with pride to your constituents as they go broke from crushing medical bills.
Durbin said critics of his vote “need to understand how the Senate works”
November 10, 2025 at 1:01 PM
All that said, none of this matters unless Johnson opens the House, which he isn’t going to do.

As pissed as I am about the Senate caving, Johnson’s not convening the House. We don’t have a House of Representatives any more.
November 9, 2025 at 11:21 PM
Any democrat who votes for this needs to be removed from office.
