Full service geek: I'm an IT professional into games, sci-fi (weirdly never got into anime), and TTRPGs. I enjoy cooking (and eating), all things Disney related, and sit zazen to help me remember that none of it is really important.
...it's a good life.

Look... one of the reasons I'm here is because I'm exhausted. I'm exhausted by people who make politics their entire personality. I guess my point is; if that's literally all you are bringing into my feed, I likely won't follow you back. I'm sure you are a lovely person.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

"You might have to suffer a bit" is the MAGA version of "Let them eat cake."

When a politician tells you it's your duty to sacrifice for THEIR principles, it's time to start building guillotines.

The first fun print for myself from the new 3d printer. Needs sanding, paint, and a pass with rub'n buff but I'm quite happy.

Proponents of going to Mars see peril and opportunity in Elon Musk's close relationship with Trump. Experts say just getting Americans back to the moon in the near future will be challenging enough.
Is Trump the president who will truly set a course for Mars?

News like this makes it hard to stay compassionate towards those who still support Trump.

I love soft snows. The world gets a little slower, a little quieter, the light is even soft. Getting out of my car at work was tough.

This is a flat-out, clear-cut violation of the First Amendment.
Associated Press: “Today we were informed by the White House that if AP did not align its editorial standards with President Donald Trump’s executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America, AP would be barred from accessing an event in the Oval Office.“

You've Persuaded Us Already
When it comes to the idea that conservatism has embraced fascism and supremacy, nobody is more persuasive than conservatives themselves. An essay on bullies and the margins of permission in the USA.

Seeing the news about Young Jedi Adventures, I feel like I need to change my proxy votes for Disney. Clearly they have ONLY adults in the room if their takeaway from the success of Skeleton Crew was; MORE KIDS!

So, the Elongated Muskrat's team is using AI to parse through treasury records looking for places to make cuts... absent any input of what things cost or what has value.
Sit with that a minute and realize that you are next.
AI is being weaponized against workers.
