Horrific cost of DOGE cuts:

If current projected US foreign aid cuts remain in place, by 2030 "the projected excess deaths would be 9.4 million (95% UI 6.2–12.6) overall and 2.5 million (1.8–3.2) among children younger than 5 years."

In our history we’ve had Cabinets with people who were bad at their jobs, but good people who meant well.

We’ve had people who were good at their jobs, but bad people.

But we’ve not had one like Trump’s filled with people who are both garbage humans and terrible at their jobs.

In private business, executives in the files are resigning in disgrace.

In the Trump admin, nothing happens since the boss is in the files more than anyone and his party is filled with cowards.

Regulations are what keeps ordinary Americans healthy and, often, alive.

It took spoiled meat and rodent droppings out of our food. It took harmful lead out of our gasoline and paint. It took poison out of our water.

Deregulation only achieves one goal: making rich corporations richer.

Trump posted a video depicting the first Black president and his wife as apes and his excuse for this is that it's a riff on The Lion King, a movie that does not feature any apes. Somehow this was a one-day story and we've already moved on.

It's simple corruption, and it will cost American lives and livelihoods.

When you show ID to buy beer, that law is applied equally to men and women. The SAVE Act requires millions of married women to acquire, and pay for, documentation men don't need. It is blatant voter suppression, an illegal poll tax and gender discrimination.
Rep. Brian Steil: "I flew home to my home state of Wisconsin, went to buy a 6 pack a beer, the clerk asked for my ID, confirmed it, and then I was allowed to buy the beer. I just think it's nuts that we protect our beer more than our ballots."

Seems fair.
Donald Trump is suing the IRS for $10 billion because a contractor illegally shared his tax returns.

Do each of the thousands of taxpayers who saw their confidential tax information illegally given to DHS get $10 billion as well?

Voter fraud is yet another "issue" that isn't an issue at all. Through countless studies, systematic voter fraud has never been found to exist. Voter suppression is real, though, and there are libraries full of data.
We've got the numbers: Last year we published (in partnership with the @brennancenter.org and @umd-cdce.bsky.social) survey results showing that some 21.3 million Americans could be disenfranchised by the SAVE Act, which the House''ll vote on tomorrow.

Time to send this thing back to its grave.
