I’ve covered a lot of protests in Las Cruces over more than 25 years. When I heard on Thursday that students from Centennial High School had marched all the way to Las Cruces High, picked up students there, and were heading to Mayfield, I knew something historic was happening. /1

Today, Rep. Castro and I visited precious Liam and his father, Adrian, at the Dilley Detention Center.

My heart absolutely breaks for Liam, his family, and every person being wrongfully detained.

The New Mexico legislature has a choice to make: human dignity or corporate profits on the backs of our communities. When it comes to HB9, it’s really that simple.

That’s why I stand with our communities and will always stand with human dignity.

I do not just throw out praise for Senate Dem leadership, but this is good. It’s what we need now - Dems using their leverage where they’ve got it and refusing to budge. Make GOP own this lawless goon squad. No Dem votes for it. Support Dems who are fighting back now regardless of past beefs.
Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

On the anniversary of Citizens United, I have one thing to say: get big money out of politics!

Elections belong to the people, not billionaire donors, corporations, and dark money. The people.

This MUST be a top priority when we take back the House. It’s time to overturn Citizens United!

Public safety means stopping violent crime — not weaponizing ICE against our communities.

That’s why I'm proposing a bill that redirects nearly $75 billion from ICE to local law enforcement.
