So I found a very interesting study about ornithosuchids! Some interesting stuff I gathered from the paper.

1) The hooked upper snouts of early archosauriforms would have been useful for holding prey in the mouth, especially the whole body of a prey item.

Prehistoric Museum was out in force helping out at the SGDS emergency fossil salvage. The jacketed some big fish and are getting the "lay of the land." For these projects you need friends in high places too! Need volunteers & funds... stgeorgedinosaurdiscoverysite-bloom.kindful.com?campaign=134...

Quick question: What should my next skeletal drawing be? I'm getting a new laptop soon since my last one died a long and debilitating death, so it'll be the first one I've done in 3 years. Bluesky's poll system is kinda limited, so here's a link:

Squeezing in one more art piece before the end of 2024, a year after having the opportunity to do fieldwork in the Candeleros Fm of Argentina's Neuquén Basin. That trip inspired this piece, which depicts a group of titanosaurs traveling a dry interdune riverbed at sunset. #paleoart #sauropods 🦕

Trying to think of a skeletal to share that I haven't really discussed elsewhere, so here's my take on the skeleton of everyone's favorite giant flying reptile, Quetzalcoatlus. The 2021 monograph by Padian, et al. made this worth tackling.

Got to see this lad at the HK Science Museum the other day: Hector the Deinonychus, one of the most complete Deinonychus specimens known and possibly one of the biggest (definitely bigger than I expected it to be). Glorious animal. If only they showed what's actually known and what was restored...
