Today is my birthday and Tuesday is my sister's birthday. I have always loved that our birthdays are a day apart.

Everyone should get out there and do something fun to celebrate birthday week!

We are doing it. Getting dressed and heading to Lakewood for Cranksgiving.

Every year something gets in the way of us partaking in this fun event. Not this year!

Cranksgiving is coming up on the 22nd - but there is real need right now. You can donate directly to the Hunger Network today if you are able at runsignup.com/cranksgiving...

I saw a guy last night with black fur and all white legs. This cat would get 500k insta followers in like 5 minutes.

And yet he's just jumping into leaf piles on the streets of Cleveland.
I love it when people post a picture of some regular guy to reddit and say “what breed is my cat?”

Ma’am, your cat came out of some muddy shrubs in your friend’s sister’s back yard

I just want nothing but good things for Nic
The Guardians have non-tendered Will Brennan, Sam Hentges and Nic Enright (whom they DFA'd on Tuesday).

Agreed to 2026 contracts with Matt Festa, David Fry and Nolan Jones, avoiding arbitration.

It's really stunning how much better I feel after I exercise. Sadly, exercise, is in fact good for you.

A driver gently honked at me as they moved 3 ft away from me in the bike lane.

I caught up to them at a red and they gave me a friendly wave.

Give drivers what they fucking want, protected concrete bike lanes. Drivers want this!

I had no idea that marathon day in Boston was a huge drinking holiday. That would be my worst nightmare to run 26.2 miles with a sea of drunk Bostonians surrounding me.

FINALLY, somebody is addressing the real transportation issues this country faces.
Trump's Transportation Secretary on how to improve air travel:

"People dress up like they're going to bed when they fly... We want to push people as we come into a really busy travel season, help people out, be in a good mood, dress up"

I am now annoyed with myself for being annoyed by this meeting.

Ouroborosannoyance
I was in a zoom meeting where it was clear that two participants were texting about the meeting.

Just grow up and say what you want to say.

And if it can't be said in the meeting make your snarky remarks after the meeting.

A cyclist on a sidewalk is usually a symptom of bad infrastructure.

As I often say, cyclist vs. pedestrian conflicts arise because both are fighting over the scraps of space not occupied by cars. But what if we took that space from cars to make biking, walking, and rolling safer?
my hot take as a full-time pedestrian and transit rider is that i want cities to do the absolute maximum amount to provide cyclists with safe and protected bike lanes everywhere so that i don't have to feel the least bit bad for kicking one off the sidewalk into the street
And before you say anything about Just Do More Public Transit, make your neighbors less fucking neurotic about funding and designing roads for public transit

Replace bike lane flex posts with bollards!

You'll also need a betamax machine. But everybody already knows that.

Making is so easy to enjoy baseball. Thanks, MLB!
You will need YES, Amazon Prime, Apple TV+, ESPN, Netflix, NBC/Peacock, FOX, and TBS to watch the Yankees next season.

What a downer. The only bar in Cleveland without a TV.

The owners seemed cool. I wish them the best of luck at whatever is next.

The anti-lectin movement

"These theories have fueled the profitable anti-lectin movement, spawning bestselling books and enzyme supplements to prevent lectin activity in the body"
Lectins • The Nutrition Source
Lectins, or hemagglutinins, are an “anti-nutrient” that have received much attention due to popular media and fad diet books citing lectins as a major cause

I hate this. I want raccoons to stay safe. Being far from people will help.

Real top tier bike riding this morning in Cleveland. Weather was great. Had some fun interactions with people on the street.

It is such a luxury to bike to work. I want bike commuting to be accessible to more people.
