{1/3} Hi all! I’m a researcher interested in migration, borders & social harm. My research explores the continuum of border violence, neglect & abandonment across time and space in Greece & Lesvos. It unearths overlooked forms of border violence as well as resilience and resistance to borders.
📌What does it mean to research responsibly in spaces of displacement & crisis?
My new blog, 'Research and Responsibility: Lessons from Lesvos', reflects on ethics, extractivism & epistemic colonialism in border research. www.mdx.ac.uk/mdx-voices/r...

Epistemic Colonialism, Extractivism, and Epistemic Resistance
This chapter explores the Greek island of Lesvos as a site of academic extractivism, epistemic colonialism, and, therefore, epistemic struggle. It argues that Lesvos, once relatively unknown and under...
