Love when I get the bucket list creature 3 days into the new year so it's all gravy from here 🥹
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH I finally found another Attidops nickersoni! 😍 Found the first 2 years ago, had been looking ever since with no luck. These silly tiny children like longleaf pine bark, or, in my 2 experiences, cypress bark. Just little flat stripy children 🤎

I collected this spider while playing with my kids at the local playground. I’m glad I did because it looks like it may be a new record for BC/Canada!

Community science leads to yet another scientific discovery! A new species of wasp-mimicking flower fly, Monoceromyia ndidiae, has been identified in the Dominican Republic through iNaturalist. Day 19 of my 2025 Favorites: Schizomida mom and her cluster of baby clones!

I've had many generations of these tiny arachnids from 2 females (they're parthenogenic) collected in a public park near Miami a few years ago, and happened to spot this one with her babies one evening. Delightful lump 🥹

Day 9 of my 2025 Favorites: Habronattus alachua (again)

I think this species has featured in every one of my favorites run-downs, and I can't help it. They're perfect: the floof and crimson red face of the boys, and the stripy eye makeup on the lasses ❤️
