Started playing Overlord (2007) on PC yesterday. It's fun in a Fable meets Pikmin kind of way.
What really surprised me is how well it runs "Out of the box" for a console port from 2007. No issues at all. 4k/120 and no tiny text or game speed issues in sight. Wish more older games were like that.

So I guess Mississippi passed a law about age verification and @bsky.app blocked the entire state. That's great and all, but I'm in Memphis and I'm also blocked unless I use a VPN or my cell service. I know that the problem is because my connection at some point goes through MS but it still sucks!

This is quietly one of my most anticipated games. No idea when it'll be done and that's OK. I'll be there day one whenever it is.

Man, for a game that came out in 2009 The Sims 3 sure does run poorly on a PC that decimates the sys reqs. Tried playing it this weekend and despite trying all the different tweaks I could find it's always a stuttery mess when trying to pan the camera around despite it reporting a locked 60fps.

Playing Lost Records: Bloom & Rage today. Interesting even if the dialog can be awkward at times.
That performance though. DLSS set to ultra perf and I still go below 60 on a 4080 super. I'm using lossless scaling FG to hit 120 because it's somehow less wobbly looking than dlss fg in this case.

Only minor complaint is that the scale seems off but I think that might just VR exaggerating the game's own diminished scale for planets and distances. Planets look like toys sometimes.

Just wrapped up BLACKSHARD by @redlockstudio.bsky.social What a great experience! Amazing atmosphere, sense of mystery, art style, and music. I'm super impressed by how they made a game about a labyrinthine megastructure but I never felt lost. All without obvious signposting.
