Just finished the extraordinary Keshed by @stuhennigan.bsky.social An incredible book. That's a very high bar been set early for my book of the year. Unflinchingly honest, powerful, visceral. It deserves all the plaudits and more. I really can't recommend it enough.

I was interviewed on how I marketed myself and my book (which might be of interest to other authors, because I got an agent, a book deal, and now the book is selling pretty well)

Cartoonists and authors: there’s no point complaining about how we are all at the whims of mysterious algorithms. You won’t change anything that way.

Instead: why not figure out what *is* within your control and double down on that?

That’s what I did.

Went to the Leeds launch of @stuhennigan.bsky.social’s Keshed on Thursday. Not been to a book launch that better explained how the author, this particular author, lives their motivations, standards, dilemmas, agonies to create the story between the covers. Beautifully exhausting, in fact…Keshed!

Thanks @ortacpress.bsky.social, two copies of @stuhennigan.bsky.social's Keshed arrived. I KNEW I pre-ordered months ago, but I don't trust me, so I ordered (again) just before the launch. I think it is a book I will be glad to have two copies of any way. Can't wait to start.
