It is full of gossip, though she doesn't reveal much about her affair with Nelson Algren... though it's all there if one reads between the lines. (The book is beautifully translated by Carol Cosman)

Anna’s pain is spiritual as much as it is physical

Here, Agnes made me think a lot about how we’re trying to find fulfilment, and how we place responsibility in other people’s or ideas of other people to fulfill ourselves.
