This morning I dropped a blue crockery dish into the sink. I was so surprised that I said, ‘oh!’ In doing so, a shard of crockery flew into my mouth and lodged in the back of my throat. I got it out. No harm done. Feels very 2026 somehow.

Saman tree, Tobago, full of epiphytes. They are sometimes referred to as the rain tree because the leaves fold up before rainy weather, thus allowing rain drops to pass easily through their crowns. Apparently, their leaves also close just before sunset.
