It doesn’t have to be this way. With the right leadership, Los Angeles can be a much better city.
Hey @ladotofficial.bsky.social, you've had funding for 14 years to fix 4th & New Hampshire in Ktown, but instead you did nothing, which killed Nadir. Amazing that it only took you three months to remove our crosswalks and memorial. Put them back in or we will. Again. And again. And again.

Los Angeles is a sprawling city which can take more than an hour to cross. Getting caught short without an available restroom isn’t fun, and one has to account for a lack of facilities when planning errands or recreation. It’s time to recognize and provide for a basic human need.
Where are the restrooms? Minneapolis needs more answers - MinnPost
Businesses can't take on the entire burden. The city must invest in a network of free, accessible and well-maintained public restrooms.

“You can learn more about our plans to get Los Angeles back on track at AustinforLA.com,” Beutner pronounces in his campaign video.

Only … there are no such plans at AustinforLA.com — only a bio, some unspecific campaign videos, and donate/involvement options.
Working families shouldn’t have to struggle to afford to live here. City Hall is part of the problem. youtu.be/wtDTdoVMvVM

Democrats, like Republicans, take their marching orders from the wealthiest in our society. An air travel mess that impact business — and not SNAP withholding — was a bridge too far for Schumer and his gang.
looks like senate dems are folding on the shutdown in exchange for a doomed vote 40 days from now and nothing else

I’m very superstitious of election night, but not today.

We need to address the fact that the LAPD - which is not ICE and at least nominally under the control of a liberal Democrat -- is violent and out of control and violating human rights just like the feds are
Cops going aggro on Sunset near Echo Park in LA after the Dodgers Win. Shooting people with less lethals from point blank range, horses running people and press down. Literally minutes before, fireworks in the street

Zohran Mamdani’s campaign for NYC mayor has been inspiring. Here in LA, though, we’ve been facing a dismal choice in 2026 between failed Mayor Bass and someone to her right.

Until today. LA now appears to have the candidate it needs and deserves for mayor: Rae Chen Huang, a social housing advocate!

I wrote about No Kings Day in Los Angeles. What bothers me most about reflecting on police response to protests in LA is that the brutality begins to feel...expected. Like, "Oh, that's just LAPD." Frankly that's bullshit. Pretty tired of watching my neighbors get their shit kicked in by the cops.
We gave them flowers; they sent in the horses.

@bsky.app Posts by verified US government accounts, such as Department of Homeland Security and Department of State, are glaringly illegal in that they are violating the Hatch Act by being used for partisan political purposes. Federal accounts engaging in this activity should be suspended.
Hello, Patriots! DHS is here to appeal to your patriotic spirit and ask that you lend us a hand in stopping the Democrats’ government shutdown.

To all the Americans on Bluesky, your homeland needs all of us to work together.

Beutner rightly criticizes Mayor Bass for locking out Controller Mejia in auditing homeless spending.

Tell us about your plan on homelessness, @austinforla.bsky.social. Will you step beyond the cowardice of electeds, and call for publicly-built social housing?
We need the facts. The City is spending billions on homelessness yet the RAND study suggests no progress is being made. The Mayor is blocking the elected Controller from auditing the City’s efforts. We need an immediate audit to tell us how much is being spent, on what, & whether it’s having impact.

Don’t be surprised if Trump unconstitutionally “federalizes” state and local police. Democrats have already built the architecture of fascism at the state and local level, where commanding officers of police forces like LAPD spew MAGA propaganda on official accounts. @agrobbonta.oag.ca.gov

Would someone credible on the left please challenge Karen Bass, fascist collaborator, for mayor of Los Angeles?

Can’t believe the city is telling a federal judge it just *needs* to be free to assault journalists and peaceful protesters.

It can’t just be between Bass and Caruso.

Downtown is “open for business” as we see the mayor in a signing ceremony next to Council Member Curren Price, indicted on multiple felony counts, including embezzlement of government funds. Bass and company care more about campaign funding from unions and business than housing Angelenos.
The expansion of the Convention Center is much more than just another project.

It is an investment in our city, an investment in our economy, and it's a major step forward in the effort to revitalize Downtown LA.

In a pre-dawn raid, the National Park Service removed — and purposely split apart — a statue of Trump frolicking with Jeffrey Epstein that was under a permit to be displayed on the National Mall through Sunday.

LA Mayor Karen Bass endorses (former?) member of Fix the Debt, a group of mostly corporate elites advocating for cuts to Social Security and Medicare. Bonus points for the backing of Curren Price the council member being prosecuted on multiple counts of embezzlement, etc.

If you know anyone in the National Guard, send this video to them.

They do not have to follow orders that will hurt their fellow countrymen. They can fight this legally.

Please remember, the National Guard takes the same pledge to our Constitution as the rest of our military.
