There really seems to be a lot of kayfabe happening right now. Trump is pretending to de-escalate to placate Dems so they don't demand reform, and Dems are making up fake reforms so they can pretend like they made changes while they vote to fund DHS.

ICE took the flower man in Echo Park 40 minutes ago. He’s at this corner every day. I’ve bought flowers from the man and woman here for anniversaries and birthdays. Lemmy loves to smell them whenever we walk by in the mornings. I was just at the street corner 15 minutes before it happened. Fuck.

Come on. You can’t be “progressive” and want to “reform” secret police forces having contempt for the Constitution. Any border/immigration enforcement needs to be done by agencies that are built from scratch, and staffed with people that follow the law.
As this administration continues to send masked agents to terrorize our cities, I will not vote to give another cent to ICE and CBP until we have real, enforceable guardrails in place.

@rokhanna.bsky.social recently voted for $3.3 billion in additional aid to Israel, and defended his action by saying he has had “a consistent record voting against funding to the Netanyahu government.” Dude needs someone to explain the definition of “consistent” to him.

I am aware of a shooting involving an ICE agent at 34th Street & Portland. The presence of federal immigration enforcement agents is causing chaos in our city. We’re demanding ICE to leave the city immediately. We stand rock solid with our immigrant and refugee communities.
