Later this month, 15th May, is HG Awareness Day and this year's theme is HGProgess.

For us, the biggest progress since last year is Cariban* being available to everyone thanks to our HG2Costly campaign.

Pregnancy can be a time of joy & anticipation, but can also feel like a relentless battle for women w/ hyperemesis gravidarum, with its persistent nausea & vomiting.

Zeinab El Dirani writes about this underfunded & deprioritised condition.

@hyperemesisie.bsky.social doing great work to support people with HG, raise awareness, and help to ensure optimal treatment throughout the health system. Unfortunately, maternal deaths still occur (rarely) from HG.

HG is tough enough and we don't want to scare anyone. But it's important to know that HG increases your risks of other conditions in pregnancy.. first up, blood clots (thrombosis).

HG patients with severe illness need access to termination but are disadvantaged by the current system 🧵
More than 1,000 women have travelled from Ireland to the UK to access abortion services since 2019, despite the liberalisation of our legislation.

Have you had to travel abroad to access abortion services? We want to hear about your experience:

This is why we exist. This is the difference that early and proactive treatment can make to HG patients and their babies. Thanks to Trish in our support group for sharing with us.
