The first thing Virginia Spanberger did after being sworn in as Governor of Virginia was repeal Youngkin’s executive order requiring state and local law enforcement to cooperate with ICE.

Mubashir and his family came to the United States as refugees from Ethiopia when he was a child, and they all became naturalized citizens in 2019.

In the 1950 film, 'Harvey', the giant talking rabbit only James Stewart can see, refers to himself as a Pookah, the Irish name for a sprite. The Pwca Trwyn was a Welsh example. Usually invisible, he would talk to the household from the (unlit) oven, making fun of the kitchen maids.

The seanchaí (traditional Irish storyteller) will often end a tale by claiming to be a witness to events. This 'proves' narratorial reliability, while knowingly revealing the opposite: "I myself was at the wedding, and I got nothing except paper shoes and thick milk socks!"
