How we interact creates our future
“For the first time in history all of us can have a say about the kind of world we want to live in.The choices we have made for the past 30,000 years have been inventing the future one day at a time. And now it’s OUR turn
Well worth a read, why have we not looked at social media as information sharing, similar to the press or “media” but now so many more options to start up new sources, and share information that is not reliable

Oh the refrain of those with money to spare, it can look like the solution to anything. If only they could grasp the experiences of people focused on helping others over making lots of money. SO DIFFERENT

I've long advised teachers faced with moronic mandates to work on two tracks at once: Do what you can to minimize the damage of these policies right now while simultaneously organizing colleagues to work on changing the policies (rather than treating them as facts of life).

Same applies to our […]

I think it would be an absolute shame if people found out the Portland Inflatable Frog Costume is still available on Amazon under $40 and it'll be delivered before Halloween. We wouldn't want the regime to be defeated by a frog army, now would we?

Or just the future? It seems like we have failed many of “we the people” over the years. Can WE do better at helping US?
The future of the Democratic Party must be rooted in investing in the American people — not Wall St., corporations, and consultants.

Otherwise, Trumpism will continue to use cynicism, racism, and distrust to divide America.

Ouch, more making the US less safe
Apart from helping Comey's selective prosecution defense, this also means the president of the United States uses direct messages on Truth Social to communicate with cabinet officials.

I didn't know that, but we can be sure intelligence agencies all over the planet already did.

Also note the violence is all on the military side giving so much more power to the pastor and the community he is protecting.
I feel like this photo of masked, armed men pepper spraying a pastor protecting his community is going to be a defining picture of this moment in America for a long, long time.

Two articles sharing the limits of debate for learning about and questioning ideas.
Kirk's smug "Watch me outdebate and own the libs" shtick - the antithesis of a genuine exchange of ideas - has prompted critical pieces on the subject: https://www.techdirt.com/2025/09/17/the-debate-me-bro-grift-how-trolls-weaponized-the-marketplace-of-ideas/.

What am I missing here, other than the MAGA bias?
Just so I'm clear:

TV host says we should kill every homeless person? No big deal

TV host says the right must "go to war" with the left? Pfft.

TV host says the government is cracking down on critics? Well, the government cracks down on him for the criticism.

Free speech, everyone.

So the purpose of the group was to start discussions, and that was wildly exceeded….by people pointing out how bad the science/data/facts/logic/whatever you want to call it is?
Does that mean we are now great, and able to see past misinformation and help each other live better lives? 🤷🏼‍♀️
