Perpetual reminder that Worksafe was set up following the recommendations of a completely independent expert Royal Commission responding to mass workplace deaths at Pike River.
Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Brooke van Velden is giving WorkSafe six months to adjust to a new way of operating, according to a version of a Cabinet paper on WorkSafe changes that was emailed to BusinessDesk.

One of the standard reactions us west Germans seem to have to the incredibly scary presence of the rightwing AfD in the East is "they're a lost cause".
That's exactly the wrong direction to go.
