A July 2025 YouGov poll for the University of Exeter indicated that Reform UK has significant support among Catholics 28% of Catholic with Reform surpassing the Conservatives, who held 22% of Catholic voters. This is absolutely depressing. It presents us with the challenge we face in our community!

Violence against women and girls – the systematic rape and trafficking of children at the hands of wealthy, elitist men – is a much bigger concern than political melodrama.

There. I said it. Unsure why it was that difficult.

Yet Latin America's "religiously unaffiliated" aren't European atheists. Most still believe in God and pray daily—as much as practicing Christians do here. They've rejected structures, but not faith. It's a distinctly Latin American form of secularisation. 6/7

For fifty years, Latin America's big religious story was straightforward: Catholics were becoming Pentecostals. But recent data suggests things have changed. Catholicism continues to decline, but the recent beneficiary may not be Protestantism, but the religiously unaffiliated. 1/7

A thing folks often forget about Revolution-era America is there were pockets of Catholics who’d effectively had their faith suppressed *in America* and, also, French Huguenots who were only here because Catholics in France massacred thousands of them and threw their bodies into the Seine River.
This is your regular reminder that the idea that Christianity is a thing uniform beliefs that everyone within “Western Civilization” believed and agreed on is a fiction that just ignores centuries of Christians killing each other and fighting literal wars over their different beliefs.
The Rubio speech really is appalling, and if you haven’t read it yet, you should.
