Serious question for any economists out there.

Please tell me your opinion on the effects of the following hypothetical law: Over 10 years, every large company must begin to pay their lowest paid employee a minimum of 1/50th the total compensation for the highest paid employee.

Discuss!

Today my acutely mediocre manager tried to give the team some pep talk.

He started by mentioning Sisyphus and it was all downhill from there...

Ok but puns aside, he literally said we're like Sisyphus, ya know the dude cursed by Zeus to endless toil which inevitably goes to waste?

Pep talk failed

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Gov. Mills: I’ll comply with the state and federal laws

Trump: We are the federal law. You better do it because you’re not going to get any federal funds.

Good morning and Happy Thursday to everyone who agrees with General Milley that Americans do not owe our allegiance to a King, Queen, or a wannabe dictator. We owe our allegiance to the Constitution.

Fuck the nonsense trump says about being a king.

You know, if they'd just STOP doing Nazi shit all the time, we'd stop calling those fuckers Nazis.

It's not that complicated.

Show the NFL you’re paying attention. Don’t watch the Super Bowl—make the ratings tank. Instead, listen on the radio. Money talks, and so do numbers. Stand against those who bend the knee to fascism. Tune out, speak up, and hit them where it counts. #BoycottNFL #TurnItOff #ListenDontWatch

Death threats are not protected under the first amendment, so why is Nazi symbolism? Isn't that basically a death threat to anyone non-white, non-cishet?

Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out.

This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive):

1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment*

2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything

3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can

4. Citizens march en mass

Ever wonder what it's like having ADHD? I'll try to describe it.

Every minute your brain spontaneously generates roughly 1000 ideas. Of those, 950 are half-baked, impulsive/ill-advised, inside jokes you made with yourself, or forgotten literally as the thought forms.

Dems in Congress: this is a very easy call. Announce an immediate boycott of all nominations and legislation until federal funding is restored.

New idea to solve all the world's problems.

Each year, the top 10 richest people get a wealth tax of 100%. Meaning they're starting from 0 again and have nothing. Maybe we let them keep a modest house and a car but that's it.

Watch them scramble to give their wealth away.

I'm not a real scientist. Real scientists, please weigh in.
All factors explaining the behavior of life are environmental. Genes are selected due to environmental pressures. So ultimately, even genetics are based on environmental factors. Genes derive from the nurture of mother nature.
