I originally found this last year, but I'm gonna post it every year because it's rad as hell- an 1890s illustrator apparently misunderstanding descriptions of the bipedal dinosaur Laelaps being Kangaroo-like as meaning it was completely mammalian, and making an awesome spec evo monster. #paleoart

Christopher Carrion gets some of the best costumes in Abarat but my favorite is in Days of Magic, Nights of War when Candy and her friends are trying to escape The Dead Man's House

Struck horror/fantasy fiction gold at the thrift store the other day

Clive Barker's The Damnation Game. A figure is silhouetted in blue light in the style of the poster for The Thing. In a painted border are all manner of monsters and ghouls encircling the image in warm tones.

The Black Company by Glen Cook. It says "Darkness wars with darkness- until the new light breaks"

Against a plain background, a figure that looks a lot like doctor doom (metal mask and gauntlets, dark cloak, etc) stabs the middle of a glowing pentagram with a giant fantasy dagger. there's a white rose off to the left.

Might I suggest reading Abarat, a YA fantasy series written by a openly queer author with amazing artwork
-series itself is also very queer friendly
