What’s insane to me is that from a purely selfish, pleasure-oriented perspective it feels good to be nice to people. Like, obviously I have been a dick a-plenty but as a general state of relationship, being nice to people feels good. None of these cruel opportunists can possibly enjoy living.

And in time, perhaps not even much time, they will win their cases. What is needed most in the meantime is courage. Keep saying what you think, doing what you do.

I think the use of chatbots for stuff like this is intended to train people to use it to avoid everything that’s painful or hard. It can write the obituary, the breakup text, the complaint letter. It’s meant to separate humans from their difficult feelings. Seems bad.
