Since passing through the anomaly, the entire crew has begun exhibiting symptoms of being a bunch of petulant high-drama backstabbers who undermine me for no reason." PANEL 3: CAPTAIN (voiceover, continued): I've ordered Dr. Bartrix to perform full medical workups on the crew but he has always been jealous of me and is also this total toxic narcissist. Hourly comic day part 2! Continued to let my kids draw on my comic paper with me and finished the rest after they went to bed. I really like how these turned out, feels like it captures where I am at mentally in this exact moment
My second page of hourly comics, the outside panels have a note with a "protect one another" card for alerting neighbors about ICE and a drawing of flower guy my oldest wanted. The panels go as the following: 2 PM The oldest one ain't napping so we're going to the library, yay! 3 PM She spent a whole hour building a brick wall. 4 PM After much debate, we land on it being taco night. 5 PM - 7 PM Tea time, a cranky baby, taco dinner, superbowl, bed! 8 PM I hold hands w/ our oldest as she falls asleep. A faint "love you, baba" as I leave the room. 9 PM - 11 PM Cleaning cleaning cleaning, Finish Portrait art! Victory! Any attempt to do art feels like a small battle won. Regardless who cares The panels go as the following: 2 PM The oldest one ain't napping so we're going to the library, yay! 3 PM She spent a whole hour building a brick wall. 4 PM After much debate, we land on it being taco night. 5 PM - 7 PM Tea time, a cranky baby, taco dinner, superbowl, bed! 8 PM I hold hands w/ our oldest as she falls asleep. My hourly comics for the day. p1 - 7-11AM: img - my perspective while driving. txt - Stayed with friends last night about 1.5 counties over so this morning was mostly driving. other stuff happened but - ok tangent can you believe it's been a year and i still don't have white-out? what the hell p2 - 11-12PM: txt - Decided I'd do these. I thought I was gonna be too busy but it turns out I am completely unoccupied. Will these be interesting? Unclear! We'll find out together. Pictured: my comics notebook, made at work by printing a guide on a bunch of bristol board and spiral binding them. And my panels still came out just a little crooked! "say lavee" p3 - 12-1PM: img - a me looking up at the pre two panels and a me reading in a chair. text - First me: Wow it's neat how you can create distance from the reader just by limiting their visual access to a small part of what's happening. Second me, reading Shadow of the Torturer by Gene Wolfe: What a unique feature of comics as a medium p4 - 1-2PM: img - Autumn from Nothing Doing holding a copy of Catch-22 and saying "give a shit - read a bit!" txt - Gonna drive again so just gonna list some books I've read instead. Between talking w/ friends & finishing Moby-Dick & following along w/ podcast readalongs I've really unlocked the habit. Feels good! Read: the first four Oz books; Moby-Dick; the Revenge of the Sith novelization (bad!); The Hobbit; Go Tell It on the Mountain. In Progress: The Fellowship of the Ring; Cathedral; The Shadow of the Torturer; Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Next: Giovanni's Room; the Two Towers; Don Quixote p5 - 2PM - ? this is still going lol: txt - Lunch + drawing w/ Washy (of Washy fame). img - @wascie.bsky.social drawing in a big chair, plus another which reads “sona is actually more like this shape but I forgot…” p6: img - an anime cat girl wincing as her cheek is pinched. txt - She shows me a new gacha game where you collect anime girls and pinch their cheeks and make them fight (?) it is perverse.
