In my old town the GOP had run basically without serious challenge for decades. A bunch of us "millennials" joined the local Dem party and basically asked to help.

We were running it in a year. Within 4 years we had a majority of town seats flipped Dem. A FAR more progressive Dem than old party
“Rather than taking over the Democratic Party the same way the right took over the Republican Party, we should take the easier route and just start up a new party ourselves!”

I’m about to fill my pockets with stones and walk into the sea.

This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

They gutted the Washington Post. CBS. NYT. Now Teen Vogue.

The point isn't to bring in more conservatives. They've reached that saturation point.

They are killing the fourth estate and buying up the social media to control the messages we see. These were all targeted to disarm the left of truth.

Thanks to someone on BlueSky (I forget who) for recommending Disco Elysium, I played it obsessively this month. An absolutely delightful game, and the closest thing to recapturing the magic of Planescape: Torment I've ever seen. Next maybe Rogue Trader or Pathfinder.

So with Sinema, Fetterman and now Platner should we get paranoid and assume there is some organized Republican plan to put ringers in office as Democrats which then turn right-wing once safely in office? It seems to be happening too much to be a coincidence.

Brown and MIT have also rejected the proposal, which would have given the White House influence over the universities' operations in exchange for preferential consideration in federal funding.
