I think the Edmonton Pride Festival parade is going to be protested again. To be honest, I’m not surprised. I’m not sure they’ve done all the work they need to. Celebrations is a form of protest, certainly, but it comes with a bitter taste for those who are still struggling.

If you’re looking for the UCP MLA’s who voted to roll back human rights in the province of Alberta so egregiously that it’s expected the next move will be the notwithstanding clause.

Here they are.

Ah man, you know it’s bad when Edmonton makes 99% Invisible. Just kidding. It’s kind of awesome, that, and that we’re taking the lead on 15 Minutes Cities. @99pi.org But come talk to us about bike lanes and public transport though, ‘cause THAT’s a nightmare here.

So you know how all sex ed materials have to be approved by the ministry of education?

Today the UCP exempted religious schools and religious programs from that requirement.

Holy crap is Danielle Smith’s government continuing to centralize their powers over municipalities.
This morning, the province sent a letter to council indicating that they plan to name more provincial appointees to the police commission.

They didn't say how many or who.

Hours later, Dale McFee announced his retirement.

Look for a new police chief who manages to be even MORE LOYAL to the UCP

I’m at the age now that when I have a post concert hangover, it’s because it was after midnight on a weekday, I have been out moving my body, aka walking, and listening to loud music for too long, and not consuming enough water; alcohol is not even required now. 🤣
