Instead of reading the news this morning, I wrote a poem about not reading the news. And I keep growing things, despite everything.

I just landed in San Salvador a little while ago, and I look forward to meeting with the team at the U.S. embassy to discuss the release of Mr. Abrego Garcia.

I also hope to meet with Salvadoran officials and with Kilmar himself. He was illegally abducted and needs to come home.

Before the election, I warned that there is no safe haven under authoritarianism.

If they can ship Kilmar Abrego Garcia to a foreign prison—accused of no crime, with no trial—they can do it to anyone.

Americans of conscience must stand against this now.

We've been writing about the plummeting pollinator population for years. Nobody ever listens to us! And - while there isn't much we (individuals) can do to turn things around, here are two tips to help bees.

1. Stop using pesticides. ALL pesticides. 🐝
2. Grow native flowers, plants, and shrubs. 🌻

Just finished the first session of Songs of the Grass: Exploring Jewish Ecopoetry as the snow creates a blank canvas on the earth. We are creating a space to use words to repair & heal our broken world. As I wrote in my poem “How to Pray While the World Burns”: “The earth hears your prayer.”

I am finally writing and submitting poems again. Planning my spring veggie garden. Focusing on the good people doing good in the world. Finding the spaces available where I can plant my seeds. (Photos from the summer garden)

I couldn’t sleep last night so I made this “WTF MUSE” shirt and mug, and while I was at it, I decided to express my rage at AI by making a “Writer Not Robot” shirt and mug. I guess being quarantined with Covid in the basement will do that to you. Enjoy! wtfmuse.myshopify.com
