This isn't a rhetorical question. The power lawmakers have ceded to the president was never theirs to give. It's yours. You have to use your voice, your vote, your constitutional right to "petition the Government for a redress of grievances" to take that power back and give Article I its teeth back.
When will Congress stand up and demand that the president stop treating Article I like toilet paper?

The single most common refrain from Trump voters I spoke to while canvassing.
After a year in which Trump has bombed ...
- Venezuela
- Nigeria
- Iran
- Yemen
- Syria
- Somalia
- and civilian boats in international waters
... I’m thinking about the voters who convinced themselves that Trump was the candidate of foreign policy restraint.

Among the many reasons you don’t kidnap a foreign head of state at gunpoint even if you have the capability, is that it sparks consequences you can neither control nor anticipate.

Two babies were born in New York within a year of each other, soon after WWII.

One, Rob Reiner, lived a life of humanity and achievement. He brought us delight and joy. His memory will be a blessing.

The other, Donald Trump, will be remembered as an embarrassment to our nation.

Congrats to Hall of Famer Jeff Kent, who was on Survivor in 2012 and said this after he was kicked off. It should be noted that the top marginal tax rate in 2012 was 35%, unchanged from the last 6 years of the Bush era. Which makes you wonder whether maybe the tax rate was not his beef with Obama.

The 14th Amendment is as clearly and unambiguously written as any law on the books. Politically it was intended to suppress former Confederates and prevent the conditions that led to the Civil War. To attack it is to give comfort to their heirs and cut into the seams of our society.

i think to understand the meaning of the birthright citizenship clause to the framers of the 14th amendment, you have to understand significance of dred scott to the civil war republican party. dred scott wasn't just a bad ruling, it was understood as a rejection of the declaration itself.

The entire debate over birthright citizenship is anti-constitutional because the purpose, intent, and text of the 14th Amendment were designed to foreclose any argument about who counts as an American citizen.

9. For there to be justice – in this case, the faint hope of impeaching and removing a president credibly implicated in child-sex trafficking – *elites must betray elites*. Powerful men (and they are men, let’s be real here) must find in themselves an incentive to be traitors to their class.
