All told, we raised $1,277 for a community pantry keeping vulnerable people alive and fed in MN.

With permission of the local organizer we did it for (who is a Teamster), if you want to support folks fighting the good fight up there, give to labor as we gear up for January 23.

Students with a background in 4-H or FFA often have a leg up on their classmates for a handful of reasons- one being that they learned at a young age how to talk to people they still consider "adults."

While Graeber’s work has been indispensable to left organization and advocacy since before Occupy, what’s needed now is a framework for mobilizing, rather than refusing to engage, the considerable fiscal agency already at hand at all levels of governance.

Are there studies of abandoned books, such as William F. Buckley’s magnum opus on conservatism, Schlesinger’s Age of FDR series—he did complete three volumes but only got Up to 1936–and C. Vann Woodward’s history of Reconstruction? I’m not talking about books uncompleted because the author died.

Can anyone make sense of the defense of banning a Plato text from a philosophy class by Brian Harrison, a GOP Texas State Representative who has championed the chilling of free speech at Texas A & M: He says people who criticized that ban are trying to “hype up any actual or perceived issues.” /1
