In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

If you cannot make a case against a masked militia cell kidnapping and killing across America then you are not fit for elected office.
The argument against ICE isn't an especially difficult one to make politically in this moment. The issue is that people who substantively disagree with abolishing ICE prefer having a proxy fight about strategy to discussing that stance. Many such cases.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.

You cannot overstate how startling it is to see a politician just say the thing with clarity and poise. No fearful hemming. No overwrought qualifying down til it’s meaningless. No lingering sense that there is a loyalty to a donor class or an ideology of stasis that they’d never admit to.
Mamdani: "I am in support of abolishing ICE. What we see is an entity that has no interest in fulfilling its stated reason to exist. We're seeing a government agency that is supposed to be enforcing some kind of immigration law, but instead what it's doing is terrorizing people."

what makes these NYT journalist and US pundit types so insufferable is their fanatical conviction in themselves (and by extension the US itself) as "the good guys", sure "we" might've tortured some folks or created a few disaster-oopsies, but we're golden anyway. the delusion is deep
The willful historical illiteracy among pundits about American imperialism is still shocking, no matter how predictable.

Please share widely on all platforms and consider donating. A single mother who is part of a local cleaning business I occasionally hire has been kidnapped by ICE, and taken from her three children (all under 10). Proceeds will go towards food, childcare, lawyer fees, and other needs. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

I guess one clarifying aspect of the regime's occupation of Minneapolis is that *no one* is coming to save us. No elected officials will protect you against the lawless thugs marauding around your streets. They won't even pretend to offer help.

They will hold indignant press conferences though.
