My Socialist grandfather, who died in 1926, believed in trial marriage. I think it should be more difficult for those under 27 (approximate age of the prefrontal cortex's maturation) to get married; couples would need mandatory counseling, and a pre-nup. Won't happen, of course--long sigh.
