Just saw Iron Lung and it might be the the platonic ideal of both video game movies and cosmic horror.
It's startling to see a movie embrace the source so thoroughly, fleshing out what's already good about the game, while still being highly accessible to the uninitiated. The set is immaculate.

Maybe it's the insomnia talking, but it's kind of amazing how every few years you get a paper talking about how we underestimated x or y animal. Like, many birds are much brighter than thought, it's just that crows have an intellect easily estimable to us. Cow tools are real. That's cool.

I'm sick today so I watched a bunch of videos about rpgs I'll never play and there's a theme emerging. I find deeply European rpgs fascinating, but I'm too dumb to play most of them.

This shit is exactly why DQ6 isn't talked about. I just got back from an adventure and want to get a tile fragment out of my inventory, but nooooo, I have to be led by the nose and come all the way back later. Would it sequence break? No. But you get zero freedom.

Also note that poster board (of the kind you make picket signs of) is good to put between your head and the high frequency sound machines to disperse the noise. Record what's happening as it happens to provide evidence if you end up getting hearing loss.

This is Jerry Lawson. He invented the video game cartridge for the Fairchild Channel F system. Because of his invention, many consoles had cartridges and CD formats and would become the norm.
The Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, and many consoles wouldn't exist without him.
