Listening to my version of Smile on cassette. Jesus fucking Christ it's the greatest thing ever created. In mono. I could write a book about this stuff. Anyway, if you want a digital copy DM me. It's the BEST. trust me, it's definitive. Best served analogue.

The CD could be the perfect Christmas present for music lovers who appreciate something unexpected. I can scribble a message of your choice on it, or not. Imagine the joy on their faces, 'What's this then? Looks cool, thanks!'. Then they play it, and love it. nickworrall.bandcamp.com/album/nick-w...

This is brilliant. 1976, no accompaniments, raw and beautiful. Pure, peak acoustic Neil Young. Recorded in a single night apparently, with breaks only for weed, beer, or coke. In typical Neil Young fashion it wasn't released until 2017. Cool artwork too, fits the vibe perfectly.

Check this out by @popcultmag.bsky.social when you get the chance. Tasty grooves and trippy lyrics, varied soundscapes that are never dull. Worth your time. impossiblemule.bandcamp.com/album/the-re...

I recently devised and carefully edited a 1972 Beach Boys album where the Mount Vernon & Fairway E.P. becomes the scaffolding around which the best tracks the band made that year are showcased. It's a TRIP. Incredible. If anyone wants it, hit me a DM.

Continuing my deep dive into the lesser known (to me) Neil Young's albums, trying to cement in my mind those that are essential, those that need some Revisionism to reach their peak, and those that I never need to hear again.

This Note's For You is very much in the latter category.

Comes A Time by Neil Young. What are your thoughts? Opinion seems to be that it's great, but I listened to it today and found it basically pretty poor. Nice arrangements n such, but piss weak songs. Didn't care for much of it at all. Is it just me?!

I'm addicted to music revisionism. It started with The Beach Boys I suppose, trying to edit together a workable Smile. Now I assess every album for outtakes or singles that SHOULD be on it, or tracks (usually covers or live) that SHOULDN'T. It's my first thought in the morning and last at night.

Isn't it odd that when Corbyn was leader all the talk was of how he was in bed with Russia, all those pics of him in a fur hat in front the Kremlin etc. Scaring people into think he was communist. Yet, all the people in bed with Putin/Russian spies etc. are right wing. Johnson, Farage, Reform etc.
