COVID is still here, it is just not getting reported. I read a few weeks ago COVID transmissions were up over 20%. I have 3 different neighbors that have had COVID in the past few weeks. Get your boosters if they are available and wear your masks.
There’s a large Covid wave in Asia that’s caused a large uptick in hospitalizations.

It’s a warning for those of us on the other side of the world. We need to push for more transparency in COVID reporting. Access to tests and vaccines.

It’s not over, and people need the info to protect themselves

NIH recently found 1 in 22 ppl who’d had Covid developed ME/CFS. The “mild” form of that disease, as @julialmv.bsky.social’s graph shows, means losing capacity to do 50% of your daily activities.

What would you give up?

Friends? Time w/your kids? Could you cut work hours in half w/o losing yr job?

The problem is most of the press frame COVID infections like a one off event and most are catching it once or twice a year. Many I know have had it 7 times. What will the future hold when risks last for years for a multitude of chronic health problems. The strategy to let everyone catch it is nuts.

Remember when the pandemic began and everyone started accommodating remote work? Everyone began showing brand new movies and live concerts streaming? Disabled people had been fighting for this for decades. Now it’s all taken away. It’s not that they can’t accommodate us, they just don’t want to.
