Working on Uprooted: Meal Replacement Game, a video game about throwing vegetables at start-up nerds.
Pinned
Hi I'm Sean, I make weird games. I'm working on Uprooted — a turn-based strategy RPG where you throw vegetables at nerds — and a Godot add-on to help with making accessible games.

wikipedia turns 25 today! the last unenshittified major website! backbone of online info! triumph of humanity! powered by urge of unpaid randos to correct each other! somehow mostly reliable! "good thing wikipedia works in practice, because it sure doesn't work in theory" - old wiki adage

Everyone should have to work in the service industry at least once
This place needs some Innocuous Discourse pronto. Quote this with a take that’s not political or aggressive

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 31. If this worked I'd be unstoppable. The end! Back to less exciting posts next year.

devs who write crappier code than AI are now putting out crappy code 10x faster
seems conspicuous that programmer commentary on genAI is split between

"oh yeah i use claude all the time now. the 10× programmer is real and he's me. i am a god"

and

"yeah my coworkers use claude all the time. they keep committing crap that doesn't work and now i spend half my time fixing it"

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 30. Whenever you think Bluesky kind of sucks, just remember how much worse it could be.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 29. Social media is great because years ago the odds of running into some weirdo screaming about minorities was comparatively low but now you can experience that constantly in a nice easy-to-digest feed right in the palm of your hand.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 28. Humans can be Sonics, too.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 27. I like to imagine that the Earth is stuck in a time loop and every few billion years it resets, but every other planet just continues linearly, so aliens like to visit Earth every now and then to see if the Earthlings did anything new on the current loop.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 26. I hope nobody got a new printer for Christmas.

A simple one for #ArtAdventCalendar Day 25, and the only one even tangentially related to Christmas (I originally drew all of these in October, so a snowman is the closest we'll get).

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 22. I love when things I drew several years ago are still relevant now, it's such a fun thing to see. It's just a great time all around.

Saw a very bleak children's book today. A book about how cocoa beans are turned into chocolate sounds pretty great and fun for kids... but by HERSHEY?!

"First, little boys and girls just like you go to work in the cocoa farms in Côte d'Ivoire for up to 14 hours every day to earn like 25 cents..."

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 21. Good thing this one I drew a few years ago isn't topical anymore! Ha ha ha!

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 20. A fun two-parter where I pitched a fun children's show where Mr. Thinks would reach kids about different actions and the tools that could help them in performing those actions. It would've been quality content for children ages 4-9, but unfortunately, Mr. Thinks died.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 19. This is the last Curse of the Dragon Prophet cover I drew, back in 2022. Then in 2023 I decided not to do the whole Draw Something Every Day In October thing so I could focus on game development, and skipped it in 2024 and 2025, too.

Maybe there'll be more some day...

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 18. This is the one where you roll your eyes and say "Oh, look who took a single Art History course in college" but then the joke would be on you, because the reality is that I just spend too much time on Wikipedia and that's how I learned about all these things.

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 17. I like the title of this one. Much simpler than most of the others, but I think it's a solid goof.

Switching back to Netscape Navigator, I guess.

But in seriousness, Firefox will always be a niche browser for people who don't want what Google is offering... so trying to turn Firefox into the same thing as Chrome seems like a truly impressive case of not understanding their user base.
Mozilla has a new CEO and he just announced that Firefox will evolve into a modern AI browser. This is a good example of how management doesn’t understand its own user base and why they go out of their way to install Firefox on Windows, Android, iOS and other devices blog.mozilla.org/en/mozilla/l...

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 16. If every image had this much stuff in it, I'd be a bit more hesitant to keep the "require alt text for all images" feature on. But it's the right thing to do! And also fun fact for you the person reading this: that's a feature you can enable! In Bluesky settings! Do it!

#ArtAdventCalendar Day 15. The Curse of the Dragon Prophet book series even got its own movie adaptation, complete with whitewashing the main character, getting basic elements of the series completely wrong, bad special effects, and Tobey Maguire!
