I believe `is_instance_valid` is only intended for instantiated things, like Nodes or Resources. Color is a reference type like an integer that doesn't really have a concept of "valid" or not. It's just what it.

That's the best thing about plugins/addons; Godot makes it so easy to build new behaviors in the editor. I literally made a plugin that just adds a new main panel specifically made for tweaking my game's test data for easier debugging, testing setup, and level switching. Plugins are powerful!
