Uprooted may not be a traditional farming game (vegetables are weapons, not food!), but no farming game is complete without a fishing minigame, and now we've got one, too! And of course, various accessibility options exist to customize the experience.

Two theater marathons across two weekends was brutal but worth it to see several Akira Kurosawa movies and the entirety of Twin Peaks: The Return; but since Letterboxd refuses to include ALL tv shows, I will log NO tv shows on it in protest.

In my game, levels have people, and people have dialog trees, and some people have shops, and those shops have items, and those items have 3D models and thumbnail icons, and all I actually need when the level actually loads are the level itself and the people in it!

So why load everything else too?

The #GodotEngine Safe Resource Picker plugin is now available on the #Godot Asset Library!

If you're using lots of custom resources, or even just using PackedScenes for your levels and storing references to them in other levels, you could be wasting a lot of memory!

Godot 4.4 supports instance uniforms for all renderers, so I felt the need to try em out. If you're calling material.duplicate() to make different instances of the same character model have different faces, hair colors, and so on, there is a better way!

When I first started working on the Godot Accessibility Suite, someone asked what the best way to provide caption support was. Now, I'm not sure if I have an answer for the *best* way, but there's definitely an answer for *a* way!

The only thing better than a turn-based farming combat game is an accessible one which is why development of the Godot Accessibility Suite is being done alongside Uprooted: Meal Replacement Game. Due to some recent interest here on Bluesky, I'm trying to give it a bit more big-picture attention now.

You can harvest Fruits from Trees many times before they die, making their longer growth times worth the wait! But be warned: most trees will wither up in Winter and won't bear fruit again until Spring!
