Seeing a lot of people speaking up for trans rights, which is great, but I would humbly recommend more people speak up before rights are taken away. And, I mean this across the board, speak when you see the injustice, be an ally in any way you can consistently. Show up.

🧵NOT BY ME, this is a post from someone who wants to remain anonymous but works extensively with trans people pre-transition. They were asked by someone “why do you think that’s so much [coverage of trans people] in the news at the moment?”

This was their response:

1/8 An extraordinary day in London. Many thousands. The police seemed blindsided by the way we completely filled Parliament Sq & later the surrounding streets and then St James’ Park.

And wow did we need it.

Something we can all do in the wake of the UK Supreme Court ruling against trans rights - here’s a list of petitions to sign on the Parliament website.
Megathread of pro-trans petitions on Parliament’s petition website. If Labour suddenly gets hit with debates for a bunch of pro-trans petitions, maybe they’ll realise this issue isn’t going away and they’ve fucked up.

I’ll add more as I find them.

Last day to do this! GENERATIVE AI IS THEFT. I'm not an artist obvs but even I have been a victim of Gen AI with Google stealing my @brokenfrontier.bsky.social work word for word for their AI summaries, without permission, attribution or compensation. Let the UK government know what you think.
Who’s been putting off filling in that government consultation on AI then? Because you took one look and realised that fucking thing was designed SPECIFICALLY to put you off?

Don’t worry, there are three online guides to help you:

The Copyright and AI consultation - how to respond as an illustrator – The AOI

Today's the final day to make our voices heard against the government's proposed plans to allow AI developers to steal our work for use in training their AI systems. It's theft, plain and simple, but you can object by filling out the IPO consultation.

The Government is considering allowing AI companies to freely use your works, unless you opt-out. This is unfair and unworkable.

Now is your chance to tell them what you think! Submit a response to their AI consultation using the guidance below.

Just a post to say a huge thank you to everyone who borrowed books I've worked on from libraries this year, and to PLR which ensures that creators get paid every time that happens. Somehow my books were loaned almost 43000 times, which is a figure I'm still trying to wrap my head around. ✨📚
