the arrest of journalists in minneapolis, including don lemon, is more evidence that the only move the administration knows how to make is to use force, and does not know how to respond when that force is met with defiance and indifference.

Dems say, let’s just fund it 2 more weeks. Let’s do the math: 9 people dead at the hands of DHS in January, that we know of. So 2 weeks is 4.5 people. Called my reps and asked, since 4.5 deaths wasn’t enough to put their foot down- is it 40? 400? Requested callback for the body count necessary.

Liam is in ICE custody and his health is deteriorating.

Joaquin Castro says Liam is depressed, lethargic, sleeping excessively and barely eating, repeatedly asking about his mom, and when he can go home. He’s withdrawn and not the bright preschooler he was just days ago.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

ICE Needs the DOGE Treatment
The agency grew too fast without legislative attention. Congress should make a DOGE-like project for it.

Our leaders would rather spend millions hiding LA under fake plants than use that money to improve the lives of Angelenos.

It does not have to be this way.

Taggers target 'graffiti-proof' ivy installed along 101 Freeway ahead of FIFA World Cup
Caltrans says it legally can't paint over the graffiti, so crews are covering it with artificial ivy instead. Still, the effort to stop the street art doesn't appear to be working.

Putin pioneered this. No opposition is legitimate. Regular, decent, “ordinary” people cannot possibly be against us because only we represent “the real people.”

Tell-tale sign of authoritarianism.

When the vote comes down outrage will center on the House Dems who voted for DHS funding but every House Dem deserves your ire.

Their leadership chose not to whip votes, chose to sit on their hands while your tax dollars fund a terror campaign against the people of this country.

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.
