Had a conversation with two different friends about fiction writing this weekend and I thought I might share, with the idea that you might find it helpful. Both of these friends told me they want to write. They both have an idea for a novel. And each said they were intimidated to get started 1/7 🧵

Yes, it does feel inevitable that Chicago will storm through the postseason, win Caleb's first Super Bowl and launch one of the league's greatest dynasties. Everyone is saying it. But Harris and I still felt it was useful to talk through the details.

I'm absolutely biased. But if you got some truth serum in Harbaugh after seeing this Broncos team up close unable to put away Trey Lance, do you think he'd still prefer to sit his guys and face the Patriots, or come back to Denver next week?

Listen, when you need Gabe Davis (week 18, winning 21-0, Trubisky at QB, Jets having long since quit), he shows up.

Be specific or stop whining.

You're a Senator. This is the second time he's done this. He's been broadcasting intentions to attack Venezuela for months.

You had plenty of time to prepare for how you'd respond to this.

Be specific about what "can't stand idly by" means or get out of the way.
Donald Trump had no approval from Congress for this unjustified, unauthorized attack on Venezuela. This is what dictators do. We cannot stand idly by while Donald Trump conducts rogue attacks that put American lives further at risk.

Why don't you leftists understand that DEMOCRATS CANNOT DO ANYTHING. THEY HAVE NO POWER. EVEN WHEN THEY ARE IN POWER. The only thing that can ever happen is that you personally some fucking guy has to vote in a couple years for the people who, again HAVE NO POWER.

btw, @rikleen.bsky.social is running for Senate in Massachusetts -- "he can't win, he doesn't have the party backing" ... wtf does *anyone* care about backing from those people right about now?

Over the years a lot of gen Y and Z have said, "How did nobody stop Bush in Iraq?" like nobody ever said anything, like people didn't protest, like we weren't horrified every day. "Why didn't Congress do anything?" Because they don't want to! Because they agree with the goal!
