Twenty years ago, I walked into this WIC office as a 20-year-old new mom—working multiple jobs and still struggling to feed my baby. I couldn’t afford formula or a breast pump. WIC helped me survive.

It was an honor joining the Center for Policing Equity at their CVI Learning Community: Unlocking Democracy Series, presenting on “From Story to Strategy: Narrative Power for Trust, Funding & Policy Change,” alongside my colleague, Archange Antoine on behalf of LIVE FREE USA.

Sunday morning is medicine to my soul.

It’s the sound of gospel music filling the air, lifting burdens I didn’t know I was carrying. It’s the warmth of community—gathering, praying, and standing together in faith.

Sunday prepares me for the week ahead, a reminder of grace, strength, and purpose.

Advocacy is the power to disrupt harm, confront privilege, and challenge oppression. It’s about using your voice, your influence, and your actions to create equity where there’s none.
