Hello world, I decided to come to bluesky and share things that I feel deserve sharing. I will focus on #games, both digital and physical, and probably other stuff as well (e.g. books). First time doing this, looking forward to "meeting" new peeps to chat about games with. Thanks for reading :)

The games industry brings in 300 billion dollars a year. The guy who made DOOM gets his projects canceled, the guy who made Katamari Damacy is broke, everyone in your feed is begging for a job and there are 50 new games coming out on Steam every day all going towards buying Gabe Newell's next yacht
Keita Takahashi (Katamari, Wattam, Noby Noby Boy) has moved back to Japan, and says he may be forced to quit the games industry due to To a T underperforming.
He also says he'd love to work on Katamari again, and for someone to invest in his studio.

In my case space is a bit of a premium, and I buy paper mostly for specific, lesser known books that I might keep or resell. Paperbacks also do not hold up well in my experience: my small Pratchett collection is slowly disintegrating before my eyes, except for those two lonely hardcovers.

So, “Order of the Sinking Star” by Thekla was just announced, which takes several small free games (two of which are mine) and gives them a major graphical upgrade and mashes up their rulesets. I haven’t been very involved but it’s a great concept and looks cool.

I played HORSES.
Tonight is the VGA but you can do something more productive than watch it: read a book, bake a cake, purchase and play an indie game, etc.

Played Horses.
None of the supposed reasons fornthe ban were there, as I feared.
If this game is immoral, no idea why some games can be sold in those same shops. Like that oldish horror game in a madhouse with plenty of gore and perversion.
So yeah wtf is going on here lol

(That said, I'd rather have the award than not have the award - the alternative is just that juries will awkwardly chuckle and say "well it's hard for me to judge this one" while the lone minority person pleads to consider the game as anything but "vaguely alien" to people used to being pandered to)

I myself am shamefully addicted to air and water. Also peeing feels too good. Life is suffering after all, it's all about that US type of calvinism, be a good sad wagie without any will to change things and submit to the big tech algorithmic flow. Kneel before the algos!
