That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.”

Truly one of the best worst spies in history. Pour one out for whoever his KGB handler was who presumably died years ago from stress induced alcoholism

Breaking news: Aldrich Ames, the CIA officer whose spying for Moscow was the most damaging breach in the agency’s history, reportedly causing the deaths of at least 10 recruited CIA or allied intelligence agents, died at 84.

Tim Weiner's short NYT obituary manages to convey both the horror and impact of what Ames did and also why it was the result of a dreadful culture at Langley at the time:

If you want the reason why Europe, and the UK, have been so quiet on Venuzuela - this is it.

Ukraine remains the big strategic priority and we're willing to be quiet to try and secure it.
I don't disagree. A big and important achievement to have got the US to it and kept them on board, though.

A Washington Post article suggests that, beyond a certain threshold, larger homes don't make people happier. Instead, well-being is correlated with affordable housing in walkable neighborhoods where they feel socially connected.

Trump’s anti-neoliberalism is primarily a side effect of him hating competitive markets. His ideal market set up is just corrupt licensing and rent seeking, which is why he loved the NY/NJ development industry
"Minimal patience" is very kind wording

I think he's pretty openly against any form of free market

This is because the ideological weirdos are mostly free market purests and Trump - an incorrigible rent seeker - has only minimal patience for the idea of free markets
One of the most significant features of this current moment in Republican Party history is that it’s the ideological weirdos on the right edge of the party who’ve been the most willing to stand up to Trump. The supposedly principled moderates have been mostly spineless.

Meanwhile, the Coalition of the Willing moves closer to an Article 5-like guarantee to assist Ukraine against Russia.

We've seen this before.

Trump's interest in Venezuela has nothing to do with his fact-free claims about drugs.

This manufactured mess aims to exploit Venezuela's oil resources to help line the pockets of big oil executives.

Instead of seeking congressional authorization for his military strike, Trump left Congress in the dark but tipped off OIL COMPANIES before he bombed Venezuela.

He's not trying to hide that he only cares about the interests of corporations & billionaires.

This isn't a democracy, it's an oligarchy.
