I am an attorney (retired) who believes in democracy, good governance & helping others. Long time NC resident, but my (damaged) heart has never left Boston.
So, have I got this right, a moron is talked into a moronic idea by another moron?
White House officials are furious with Bill Pulte, the Federal Housing Finance Agency director, who talked Trump into suggesting a 50-year mortgage plan.

The White House was blindsided by the idea and is now dealing with a furious backlash from conservative allies, business leaders and lawmakers.

Looks like a beast. I’m waiting for Toyota to release an EV version of the FJ40 Land Cruiser.

Leah, I agree with your overall sentiment, but what these D’s did was not a run to the center. It was capitulation, and there is a difference. You can be center-left & still fight for our causes.
When Rs vote, their elected officials work to deliver whatever batshit policy they ask for.

When Ds vote, we watch our reps consistently run to the center and give us nothing.

I am so tired of only being thrown stale bread crumbs.

South #Florida is losing more residents than it’s gaining, and a new report suggests that the frequent floods from sea level rise that creep into roads, parks and yards could be at least part of the reason why.

Redfin suggests flooding could be driving people away from places like South Florida.

As useless as teats on a Bull.
Centrists and moderates, what have you done for America lately?

Reminds me of the white moderates MLK warned about so many years ago.

Just useless.

Feckless cowards, afraid of their own shadow.
The centrists in the Senate Democratic caucus saw that the country was rallying to the party in the 2025 elections and resolved that they would do anything they could to kill that momentum.

Feckless cowards, afraid of their own shadow.
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve always been a big fan of Elise Stefanik but, if the reporting is correct, I’ll never support her in a Democratic primary. On the other side of the coin, Talarico will always get my vote.
Pay attention to what Democratic candidates are saying right now. Find and support the fighters. Having a spine must be a litmus test issue in 2026 and beyond.

Their caucus is led by Chuck Schumer. Of course they’re going to cave.

A completely normal human-like response.
Actual, unaltered, press photo of an actual asshole lacking care, compassion or human decency for someone who just collapsed in his office.

Ray Flynn, the former mayor of Boston, used to say that when campaigning. He would “wear through the soles of his shoes.”
Mamdani defeated Cuomo by just walking around NYC, chatting with average people & eating street food.

Pols used to do this all the time. In the early 60s Bob Dylan wrote a line about pols hitting the city streets to eat pizza, bagels, and chitlins.
It shouldn’t be forgotten that a big piece of Mamdani’s campaign was simply “cities are cool and lots of people enjoy living in them” which in and of itself dismantles alot of rightwing talking points

What you “want” is great. What we need is to beat back these fascists, and I don’t give a fuck whether you are a Bernie Bros or a never-Trump Republican.

It’s almost as if these folks are deplorable.
Hundreds of thousands of people, dead because of a decision made by the world's richest man
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

Now, more than ever, with the right wing noise machine flooding the zone with garbage, it is imperative that the D’s nominate someone with speaking skills of an Obama or Clinton. This is the only way to break through.
Obama is better than caffeine…any day. I had almost forgotten what it sounds like when a fine orator is at the podium.
