I know the world is nuanced and complicated and whatnot, but solving wealth inequality and abolishing the billionaire class would solve pretty much all the bullshit that keeps me awake at night.

MLB and other US leagues (and the federal government) are so far behind this problem that they may never catch up. The naked capitalism of online sports betting is out of control.

The Canvas LMS quietly added an AI feature in the gradebook that captures professors' comments and saves them, and in turn offers to autofill later comments with that same content.

So if I advise one student to strengthen a thesis, it will automatically suggest I say the same thing to another. No.

The prop bet scandal that hit MLB and the Cleveland Guardians is a bright red flashing warning siren that we need to end legal sports gambling, and especially apps like DraftKings.

The damage they can do to the games we love is immense, and the young men the apps prey upon are drowning.

The white line that separates the playing field from the rest of society is not a magic legal line. In a football stadium, in the parking lot, and on the street, violence should be charged and prosecuted. Suspended for ONE GAME? Come on.
After a fight during last Saturday's conference game, the SWAC issues $65,000 in fines ($40k to Grambling St, $25k to Bethune-Cookman) and suspends 27 players (18 from Grambling, 9 from B-CU), with 25 players suspended for one game with 3 suspended for two.

It’s official, UW Women’s soccer will host Montana as the four seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Big Ten champs twice over, regular season and tournament, the Huskies get at least one more home match. Story to follow.

I hate soccer so damn much. I hate it more than I can possibly explain.

But I love it way more.

Maths...

If you make $100,000 a year (not bad), it will take you 10 MILLION years to earn a trillion dollars.

If you make a million dollars a year (wow!), it'll still take you a million years to earn a trillion dollars.

Tax the rich.

No.
SCHUMER is on the floor now making this offer to end the shutdown:

Clean CR
Bipartisan "minibus" of approps bills
1-year ACA funding extension
Bipartisan cmte to negotiate on health care

"This is a reasonable offer that reopens the government, deals with health care affordability."

I saw a video of ICE thugs in Chicago and noticed the plate was from WA. I looked it up.

Brand new Ford Expedition. Retail price $75k.

Among other things, we need a full audit of this shit.

Let's start with: He's not mayor yet.
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

He won't stop until he is stopped. And the longer it takes to stop him, the more permanent damage he will do.

It only takes a small handful of Republican senators to end this entire nightmare and perp-walk the bastard out of our house.

Let's get on with it before there is nothing left.

Support independent soccer media!
This is a great response.

It's also important to note that it's local coverage by @voght.org and the @sounderatheart.com writers that get this insight into the local head coaches. It's an amazing local media environment that asks great questions to solicit these answers.
At her presser today, I asked Laura Harvey for her thoughts on the discourse about trans athletes and the #NWSL, and the divisive rhetoric targeting some players for their appearance. Here is her answer (with transcript of her remarks in alt text):

It is normal for the media to report "approval ratings" of presidents, so we are used to that metric. But approval ratings don't tell you much useful information. You get a lot of soft approvals based essentially on how that person voted or their party affiliation.

The school agreed and removed the book.

My hot take on AI in higher education is that the things it is marginally good at are all things we shouldn't be doing in the classroom anyway.

If your students can game your class by using a chatbot, your class needs to be torn down and rebuilt.

I have a strange feeling that Friday is going to be a very pivotal day in Trumpville.

The walls are closing in. House GOP members are getting figity. Business owners are getting nervous. Airlines are pissed. Job numbers are terrible.

And he still can't shake the Epstein crimes.
