I don't think I ever posted this environment concept.

It's called Pokemon, and I made it

I love threads like this because:

1) They provide good, thoughtful insights into a particular design philosophy, and

2) They prove that you can break any design "rules" upon the wheel, dip them in acid, chop them up, bake them into a pie, and still get designs that people love
Oh no I am having the urge to lecture about how bionicles are terrible character design, why am

Hello! My contract with Stoic will end in August and I will be available for work!
Here issome images to show my professional work over the last few years. They're all the result of a huge effort by a group of people, but I believe I've had a considerable impact on their final look.

It's here! A story I've wanted to do for years and have been working on for months. I asked over 40 game devs one question: what is something that people get wrong about how games are made? Most of those devs are in here, some will be in a... future story. www.gamesradar.com/games/game-d...
"We cough up a chunk of our soul": 32 game devs, from Doom's John Romero to Helldivers 2 and Palworld leads, explain what people get wrong about games
Sam Barlow, Metaphor: ReFantazio leads, ConcernedApe's business head, indie legends, and many more weigh in

Anyways I’m economically not doing the best, so if you would spread the word about my music (cysmix.bandcamp.com), voluntarily of course, I would be very appreciative. I’ve got new stuff coming eventually! 😄

Towerborne, the game I've been doing environment art for, had its Game Preview launch on Game Pass yesterday. They gave me the privilege of painting up some alternate key art for it

Not just the rocks and trees even, they let this environment guy draw the folks and hands and faces and everything 💦

A friend of mine started a studio and they just put out their first game! Features:

- Slime combat
- Slime spell-crafting that lets you make slime knife tornadoes
- Slime co-op for a more intimate slime experience

Also there's a demo! Don't be scared!

Sarah is easily one of my favorite artists and you should treat yourself by following them. You deserve it.
I put up some older and recent work in a portfolio account I set up (with my legal moniker for bizness reasons) at bsky.app/profile/emba...
I'll share more art here soon, just had to get that sorted out first. Go take a peek! (especially if you know anyone who's hiring concept artists)

If there's anything I hope young creatives take from David Lynch, it's to reject the modern IP-driven impulse to explicitly explain and cleanly categorize the logic behind every single event and decision inside and outside of a story at least some of the time.

The end of spooktime approaches. I worked with some friends on a horror game a couple years ago. Pitch was about trying to clean a haunted house while avoiding random assortments of ghouls.

Didn't end up going anywhere but doing monster designs for it was a ton of fun
