Alberta just introduced Bill 9, which exists for one and only one purpose: deleting the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms as it pertains to trans kids, denying them the right to life and stripping their healthcare away.

The Carney Government just passed a Federal Budget that cuts the Canada Public Transit Fund, as the TTC faces a $4.3B repair backlog & $232M operations shortfall.
The $3B fund will now be folded into a generalized infrastructure fund, leaving less money on the table for transit riders nationwide 👎

So lovely. The west end of Harbord connects pretty well to the rail path trail which you can ride north to Cedarvale park and stuff. Very little time on unprotected infrastructure, very many amazing views of this beautiful, lovely city.

I don’t have anything to add to this. Living in Ontario feels like living in a death cult sometimes: we have just accepted that people are going to die so drivers and get everywhere as fast as possible and find parking as conveniently as possible.
In my brief block by block encounters with crossing guards I see how drivers menace them, inching towards. What a whole shift must be like.
The Premier and other politicians, Toronto Police, other forces, have taken the lid of all this. A death drive amid other bs rhetoric of public safety.

This guy was the “progressive” candidate by the way for Scarborough by election. We’re so fucked
Councillor Shan moves to exclude three streets in his ward. He worries the retail spaces created won't just be small shops selling ice cream to locals, but things like "beef patties that are so popular that people from the 905 will come to get it." That'll just add to traffic problems, he says.
